A SURE PROOF

Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see."
HEBREWS 11:1 (CEV)

Wouldn't it be nice if we made decisions and saw wonderful results in just a short time? But decision making doesn't work that way. Sometimes we see good results right away and negative results we hadn't expected down the road. Other times we don't see many results at all for many years.

Decision making requires much faith--when we're making those choices and as we wait for the results (or when we have to fine-tune decisions because something wasn't quite right). We make our choices and live with them. But happily, few decisions can't be changed or otherwise dealt with. When all else fails, we have the option of confessing our wrongdoing and turning around through God's forgiveness.

God challenges us with decisions to make us "sure of what we hope for" and give us "proof of what we cannot see." As our daily lives take form around our choices, we begin to see how God works within us and proves the future He has laid before us in eternity.

As we look ahead and hope God's promises will be fulfilled despite our flawed decision-making process, God gives us sure proof that He will always be faithful, even when we fail. As we trust in Him when we make errors, we learn which of us is really trustworthy, and we put our faith in the One whom we cannot see.
